Challenge
Teaching Quality Week is the largest university-wide initiative at Jagiellonian University in Poland that is dedicated to the enhancement of teaching and learning. Many workshops, lectures, debates and community events held over one week take place once a year across multiple university departments and locations.
The challenge was to create a coherent organizational and communication system for an initiative engaging the entire academic community - faculty, administration and students - while coordinating a program consisting of many parallel events held throughout the university.
Strategy & Direction
Between 2012 and 2017 I led the development and coordination of the initiative, shaping its structure, program and communication. Teaching Quality Week functioned as a community-driven platform where members of the university proposed and voluntarily hosted their own workshops and lectures, sharing knowledge, skills and personal passions.
The program created space for topics rarely found in formal curricula - from professional skills and academic publishing to well-being, communication and digital tools.
Over time the initiative expanded with additional formats such as the Best UJ Presentation competition inspired by TED-style talks, informal gatherings and visits to the university vineyard.
Across successive editions the program grew from several dozen to over 100 events within a single week.
Visual & Communication System
In conjunction with the program development, a complete visual communication system for the event was created.
As art director I oversaw the concept and development of the visual identity and communication materials, collaborating with graphic designers to implement the system across print and digital formats.
The system included posters, social media graphics, event programs, certificates, badges, informational signage and presentation templates, ensuring that participants could easily navigate a program consisting of many simultaneous events across the university.
Production & Coordination
The project required building a full organizational and technical infrastructure supporting the event.
This included a system for submitting events, participant registration, attendance tracking and evaluation surveys, as well as a set of organizational tools used by organizers and participants.
Alongside creative direction I coordinated the project schedule, managed the budget and led a small organizational team while working with numerous university departments and contributors.
Outcome
During my leadership the initiative expanded from several dozen to more than 100 events organized within a single week, engaging hundreds of participants across the academic community.
Teaching Quality Week became a vibrant platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange and community building at Jagiellonian University and continues to be organized annually.
