Challenge

An abstract visual system was developed through close reading rather than literal imagery.
The book was conceived as a tactile object, designed end-to-end from editorial concept to material execution, allowing a non-linear, physical experience of the poems.
Design system
A modular system based on circles, repetition and negative space reflects poetic rhythm.
Color acts as an emotional temperature.
Outcome
A shared authorship between poet and designer - a visual form that understands the text rather than decorate it.
