Purpose
“Insight” was created as a personal study of the human face and emotional presence. The sculpture explores the tension between presence and introspection, capturing a moment of inner reflection.
The work also reflects a process of self-exploration, treating the face as a surface where personal experiences and emotions leave their trace.
Approach
The sculpture was developed as a realistic study of the face, focusing on subtle asymmetry and expressive surface details. During the process, the intention was to preserve traces of the making process - irregular textures, small deformations and the raw character of the material.
Rather than striving for smooth perfection, the piece embraces visible marks of modeling that strengthen its expressive quality.
Visual Language
Although based on a realistic facial form, the closed eyes and rough surface create a sense of suspension and introspection.
Outcome
“Insight” functions as a study of emotional presence, balancing between portrait and a symbolic representation of inner experience.
